How Do You Know that the Bible is Accurate

The reason we believe that the Bible is the Word of God without error is because of direct revelation. God, Himself, reveals this fact. We can confirm this using science, of course, as Werner Gitt points out in the book, "Without Excuse." God reveals reality to us using science, of course. However, God also reveals, by speaking into the innermost mind of the person with a mind that is open to God, that the Bible is accurate. This belief is NOT worthless, rationalized, make-believe faith, which is based on the interpretation of physical evidence using fabricated stories that are made up to explain the physical evidence. It's not based on arbitrary assumptions such as naturalism, materialism, or uniformitarianism. God didn't create the human mind to be operated without the Intelligence of the Creator flowing through it. Anyone who truly seeks God will eventually find God, and God will reveal these things to that person--providing they truly desire to know the truth. This revelation about the Bible is given directly by God to everyone who will receive it.

This is not Circular Reasoning

Here is an example of how a skeptic may set you up to appear as if you were using circular reasoning:

Skeptic: Is there a God?

You: Yes.

Skeptic: How do you know?

You: Because the Bible says so.

Skeptic: How do you know the Bible is correct?

You: Because it was inspired by God.

Skeptic: Ha! Ha! I've got you now. You 're talking in a circle. That is circular reasoning.

It is indeed circular reasoning, and it is totally unnecessary for anyone who actually follows Christ. Everyone who follows Christ is led by Christ. They know His Will because He makes it known to them. Study the graphic. It makes it simple.

The skeptic would then claim that you are trying to prove that God exists and presenting, as proof, that God exists. Well, you probably are not trying to prove that God exists. You were answering simple questions, and what you answered was correct but incomplete. You could have said, "Because it was inspired by God and God personally has revealed this to me." Now, you have a more complete statement and you won't be accused of circular reasoning. You could also more accurately say that believe in God because He made Himself real to you, and you know that the Bible is accurate because God revealed that to you as well. Without revelation, it is impossible to know anything about anything. How God revealed these things to you is immaterial, but maybe you might be careful how you answer in the future if you have ever fallen into this trap. The skeptic is using formulas he learned to have an artificial "conversation" in which the skeptic tries to make you out to be an idiot.

This is NOT circular reasoning:

Skeptic: Is there a God?

You: Yes.

Skeptic: How do you know?

You: Because I have met with God and He leads me moment by moment. He has revealed to me that the Bible is His Word without error.

This is NOT circular reasoning:

Skeptic: How do you know the Bible is correct?

You: Because God has personally told me this.

Skeptic: How did God show you?

You: He revealed it to me using the Bible. Through the Bible, John 10:35, He said to me: "The Scripture cannot be broken." He told me through 2 Timothy 3:17: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. His faith, a gift of supernatural trust and belief, filled my mind as soon as I heard His utterance of these things through Scripture."

God reveals through Scripture and through other means mentioned in Scripture.Wouldn't it be equally valid to say that He revealed it to you using the Bible, my conscience, a still small voice, prophecy in several Church services, a word of wisdom, a word of knowledge, a dream, a vision, and creation if that is the case? It is no more circular to say that God showed you something using the Bible than it is to say that a professor showed you something using a textbook. The difference between the revelation that comes from God and the revelation that comes from the professor (or the writer of the textbook) is one of authority. God has authority. Without revelation from God, everyone (including writers of textbooks and professors) is bound to circular reasoning or totally arbitrary, unsupported claims at their root premise.

Of course, the scoffer can always say that he or she doesn't believe you, and that is no surprise that a scoffer would scoff. The real point is that you don't believe them. You believe God instead of them. It is not your job to convince them of God. Your job is to tell the scoffer of your experience. Their job is to believe--actually to accept the supernatural belief that comes from God. If they fail to believe what God has told you and you have told them the truth by the Spirit of God, then they are not refusing to believe you. They are refusing to believe God. You see, when you speak by the Spirit of God, it is God speaking through you. It is not you who is speaking. You are nothing. You are just the instrument that God is using at the moment.

On the other hand, someone may lie and say that God revealed something that God didn't reveal. This has always been a problem. Such people are known as false prophets or false teachers. They are like those scientists who were recently caught falsifying their data regarding supposed global warming. God does reveal through His creation, but a lying scientist may claim that something was observed when it was not observed. More often, a scientist makes accurate observations, records them accurately, and filters these observations through the lies of their own presuppositions to come to the wrong conclusion. How different this is from a person who is following Christ. The person who knows Christ knows that He is real in the same way they know that their parents or good friends are real. They don't do science to know their friends exist. They have a relationship with them. They have a two-way conversation with them.

One thing you will find if you deal with scoffers. Very few of them have a working knowledge of logic. They may be teaching logic, but they have trouble applying it. That is because dogmas such as Agnosticism, Evolutionism, Humanism, Liberalism, Materialism, modernism, NaturalismPost Modernism, Relativism, and Secularism require many logical fallacies. When someone has been trained in any of these dogmas, they lose the ability to process in a logical way. They may, however, live in two worlds. Using logic for practical decisions, and using insanity when thinking about their dogmas or the Spirit of God Who conflicts with their dogmas.

If the scoffer claims to know that you have not heard from God, however, then that scoffer is being irrational. They are claiming to know your inner thoughts and spiritual experiences. That is actually an insane thing to do. It is irrational.

A scoffer will try to make a false choice between logic and revelation. However, revelation is always logical. Logic is part of God's nature and cannot exist without God. No one can use their mind correctly without the flow of the Anointing of the Holy Spirit through their mind. Without God's love flowing through the mind it is diabolical, degenerate, and useless. In fact, there is no way to logically defend logic, understanding, wisdom, knowledge, morality, or ethics if the the God of the Bible is not the true God. No other spiritual or natural explanation can account for any of these. If the scoffers were correct, then it would be impossible to know anything. But we can know things, so the God of the Bible is the true God. And it is this God Who directly reveals that the Bible is the Word of God.

How does God reveal this? God speaks. God speaks through the Bible. God speaks through visions, dreams, and more directly. God speaks through the Body of Christ. God speaks through creation. Humans can make mistakes in receiving revelation, so God has placed safeguards against false doctrine in the Church.

(some caveats about hearing God's Voice)

Whenever we are talking to an unbeliever, we are talking to someone who is blind and deaf to reality. Just as Jesus told Nicodemus that it is impossible to see the Kingdom of God unless a person is born again, you must explain that it is impossible for the unbeliever to see spiritual things. The problem is that they may want to see before they will believe, when they actually must believe before they will be able to see. If you had a microscope before anyone knew about microscopes and you tried to tell people about germs, they would not believe you. If you asked them to look through your microscope and they said, "First let me see the germs," you would be in the same position as talking to an unbeliever who demands proof first. The way that a person is born again is by believing.

Dogmatic unbelievers actually don't want God to exist. They don't want the Bible to be true.

It is true that the observable physical evidence supports God's existence and His Truth without the mental gymnastics that the Atheists and Evolutionists find themselves tangled in. However, our evidence is spiritual and is based in the power of God. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word (utterance) of God. God speaks. God speaks to every person. Whoever will listen receives the faith that is of God. This is a supernatural belief that is not human-generated. It is a gift.

Atheism is a religion that depends on fabricated stories (evolutionism, old-Earthism, big-bang, relativism, bibilcal-erroism, etc.) that are based on arbitrary assumptions (naturalism, materialism, uniformitarianism) and rationalizations. The term, "arbitrary assumptions," is actually an over-simplification. These three arbitrary assumptions have morphed into a worldview, or paradigm. A worldview/paradigm is a fake reality that becomes more real than real reality to the person who sees life through the filter of the worldview. Most people are not even aware of the worldview, since it appears, to them, to be reality itself. Worldviews tend to be shared within a community. The current shared worldview in the scientific community is that of naturalism/materialism/uniformitarianism. All data that conflicts with the worldview is disallowed and must be either discarded, discredited, or explained away. This creates something called confirmation bias. So all observations are used to confirm the current worldview--this is true even when the observations absolutely destroy the worldview, which is confirmation bias. Currently, the naturalism/materialism/uniformitarianism worldview struggles against reality, yet it is defended vigorously to the point that people who question it are persecuted, lose jobs, miss promotions, don't get tenure, don't get published, and don't receive funding. Unfortunately, this same false worldview has crept into society at large and even into churches. Two of the assumptions include the assumption that God doesn't exist and the other one assumes that the great catastrophic flood of Noah never happened, which is why it is so destructive to the church. Many people have become so hypnotized into this worldview that hearing anything that conflicts with the worldview is jarring to them. They can hardly believe that there are people who are not captivated by the no-God, no-Flood worldview. However, this worldview is a lie. You will even run into Christians who are totally under the direction of this massive lie.

Now that scientific Laws of Universal Information have been revealed, as Werner Gitt clearly shows, one would think that the worldview of Materialism would be quickly dropped since it clearly violates those scientific Laws. However, “Without Excuse” shows that worldviews are protected fiercely by those who hold them and who will not accept anything that contradicts the worldview. This book points out that those who currently hold power in the scientific establishment must die off and be replaced by younger, more open-minded scientists. However, in the case of Materialism, buttressed by Naturalism and Uniformitarianism, even the following generations are systematically inoculated from truth and brainwashed into the current worldview. Other false paradigms of science that are mentioned in the book never had the web of devices for indoctrination that the current power structure has nor did they have the appeal that Materialism does to those who want to be their own gods unrestricted by the Creator. On the positive side, there has never been a time in history when it has been possible to communicate dissenting concepts as inexpensively and to as many people as it is now. The information in “Without Excuse” ought to be put out through every form of social media by those who care about reality. (See also: Information Theory Part 1,Part 2Part 3Part 4Here is another interesting article.) More is constantly being learned about information and about the Second Law of Thermodynamics. Evolutionists tend to hide in the weeds of the unknown with an argument from ignorance: "If you can't prove, by empirical science, that evolution is impossible, then it happened." By empirical science alone, we can only prove probabilities. The probabilities show the Big-Bang-Billions-of-Years-No-Flood-Molecules-to-Man story to be a bazaar hypothesis, a story that is so improbable that it should not be considered. However, empirical science is not a tool that can prove anything to be true or false absolutely. For absolute proof, we have revelation. (See Basic and Concise Guide to Practical, Useful Logic and Reasoning). God says that He created everything. He is the One Who enforces the laws of nature. He is the One Who will judge all of us in the end. We know that because we know Him presonally through the indwelling Presence of Jesus Christ and the moment-by-moment instruction of the Holy Spirit.

True faith is the belief that what God has said is true. Before a person is born again, there is a history of hearing God's voice, although this hearing is very muffled. No one can come to Christ unless the Father draws him or her. A person is born again the moment that he or she hears God's voice and receives faith to believe in Jesus as Savior from sin. In the same way, it is God who speaks and says that the Bible is the Word of God without error. When we hear His voice, then His faith comes, the supernatural belief that the Bible is the Word of God without error. Once God opens our eyes, we see that the Bible is the only source that is both internally and externally consistent. We cannot possibly believe unless we are having an active interaction with our Maker. Some Christians are not aware enough of their own experience to know this. That's why we have all the previously-mentioned reasons for believing the Bible as the Word of God.

Interestingly, explanation given in the previous paragraph does not depend on circular reasoning or poor logic. It depends on God. This is the kind of faith that is what is really operating. It is based on revelation. Now, a naturalist will attack the whole idea of revelation claiming that revelation cannot be verified. Actually, it is very well verified.

Anything spiritual must be revealed. The fallen carnal mind of man (or woman) cannot possibly receive it. In fact, to receive revelation causes gradual death of the fallen carnal mind as we become alive to Christ. As we begin to see reality as it really is, we leave behind the lies that have been planted by Satan.

God does not reveal to a mind that is closed to Him. He forces Himself on no one. You could speak as the oracle [direct mouthpiece] of God, and you are commanded to do so, and yet a fool will not receive the direct revelation that is coming from God to them through you. They will not understand it. They will not receive it. It will seem as if it were foolishness to them. The Spirit moves where there is submission to Him and a willingness to have Him govern.
